President of the European Union Jerzy Buzek hoped on Wednesday the international community would take action to help Yemen after the attacks on a British embassy staff car and a French expert.
The attacks early Wednesday in the capital Sana'a sent a dangerous message that required the response of the international community, he said in a statement published by the AFP.
We should support Yemen to face the terrorist and separatist violence where the political, economic and security horizons are worrying, he said.
Buzek condemned the attacks against the Europeans who came to the country with the aim to help improve its situations.
Unidentified attackers fired at 8:00 am a missile on the car which was carrying four of the UK embassy staff injuring one of the staff.
Three passers-by were also injured in the attack which took place at the same place where the convoy of ex-British ambassador to Yemen was targeted by a suicide bomber in April. The envoy was unhurt and the bomber died.
In another incident, a guard shot dead early today a French expert who worked for the Austrian Oil and Gas Company OMV.
The murder took place at the OMV Sana'a office when the employees started to arrive for work.
The guard was arrested but the motive remained unclear.
