Dozens of pro-government and Houthi fighters were killed and injured in battles in key parts of Yemen's southern province of Taiz on Tuesday.
Around 30 fighters, 20 Houthis, were killed in the battle for the Amri Military Brigade in the Dhubab town, sources within the popular resistance said.
Houthi media said 20 pro-government fighters were killed and 70 others injured in this battle.
The pro-government forces backed by the popular resistance and the Saudi-led coalition took over the brigade, the resistance said.
When the offensive to retake Taiz was launched more than a week ago, the pro-government forces were ambushed while seeking to take over the brigade. Dozens were killed and injured then.
In the district of Karish, 3 pro-government fighters and 7 Houthis were killed, the sources said, adding the district was retaken from the Houthis.
Battles were also reported in the provinces of Dhali, Baidha and Ibb.
Houthi-run media also reported other casualties, mostly civilians, from airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition in some provinces including Taiz.
Separately, president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi paid a visit to the Anad military base in the province of Lahj early Tuesday.
He inspected the base and discussed with military chiefs the operations in Taiz and support being provided to them.
