At least 30 civilians were killed and 120 others injured in heavy airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen's capital Sanaa, the Saba news agency reported on Saturday.
Others, around 12 civilians, were killed in other cities including Saada, the birthplace of the Houthi militants, and Marib where fierce battles have been escalating for days, it said.
Rescue teams are continuing to recover people out of debris amid big challenges primarily lack of fuels and medicines, it said.
The coalition targeted residences and stores in an obvious violation of the laws of war, it quoted officials as saying.
On Friday, the coalition escalated airstrikes in Sanaa targeting military and security installations as well as weapons depots controlled by the Houthi militants, military sources said.
International organizations are calling for an international committee to investigate indiscriminate attacks by the warring parties including the coalition that amount to war crimes.
Around 5.000 people including many children have been killed and around 20.000 others injured since the coalition launched the bombing campaign in late March, organizations said.
