500YR: Fine for Health Ministry Smokers
According to the Director of the Anti Smoking National Program, the Ministry of Public Health and Population has decided to deduct YR 500 from the salaries of its employees who smoke inside the ministry buildings. The move came as a response to the anti smoking law which was issued in 2007 to stop smoking in health facilities.
Children Help Police to Arrest their Kidnapper
A number of Yemeni children in Dhamar governorate succeeded to help authorities seize their kidnapper after they managed to escape. Sources confirmed to Yemen Post that the man was handed over to prosecution, and medical diagnose would take place for some of the children who were believed to be abused by the kidnapper. According the children families, children were physically abused while being kidnapped, in addition to being under sexual abuse.
260 Accidents Occurred Last Week
According to a report issued by Traffic General Administration, 31 people were killed while more than 305 people were injured in traffic accidents last week. The report showed that the total number of accidents was 260, divided as the following: 129 crashes, 92 run overs and 36 overturns.
Most accidents occurred in Sana’a followed by Taiz and then Hudaidah, and the accidents caused more than YR 55 million in losses.
