Dozens of fighters have been killed in confrontations from Houthies and popular resistance during the past 24 hours in Yemen's cities of Dhale, Marib and Taiz.
More than 50 fighters were killed in Dhale where the local popular resistance fighters have lately repelled several Houthi attacks and regained key areas, local sources said.
In Marib, local sources said around 20 fighters were killed and many others injured during the confrontations in the Serwah district.
In Taiz where the situation appeared to be a little calm today, around 9 fighters were killed and more than 20 others injured in ambushes and clashes on the western and eastern outskirts.
With support from forces loyal to the former president Saleh, the Houthi militiamen have been fighting popular resistance in several middle and southern cities for more than a month.
The battles were launched after the Houthi militant group tightened its grip on power and seized almost all northern regions.
Meanwhile, fighter jets from the Saudi-led coalition have been intensifying airstrikes on weapon depots and war positions of Houthis and pro-Saleh forces in the past few days.
The coalition launched a military operation against the militants and dissident forces on March 26th.
The operation was in response to an appeal by president Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi after the Houthi coup.
Spokesperson for the coalition, Ahmed Asiri, told media few days ago that more than 95% of heavy weapons controlled by the Houthi militants have been destroyed. Meanwhile, Saudi fighter jets operations continues in Yemen.
