The popular resistance in Yemen's city of Aden has formed a council for facing the Houthi militants and pro-former president forces, taking the charge of security responsibilities and coordinating with the Arab coalition.
Local sources said the council will comprise members from all districts in Aden to ensure a united popular resistance first and then coordination with the Arab coalition especially for weapon delivery to clean the city from militants.
The sources did not confirm whether the council will coordinate with popular resistance fighters in other southern cities.
The Arab coalition launched a military operation against the Houthi militants and dissident forces more than a month ago.
The intervention was made after the Houthi militants with support from the forces loyal to the former president had waged a war against the pro-government forces and popular fighters in March.
The militants seized power in September and have been since facing huge challenges because of people refusal to their coup and violence.
Today, fighter jets from the coalition struck targets of Houthi militants and dissident forces in some cities including Taiz for the third day of airstrikes within the new stage of the military operation.
Three days ago, the coalition ended the operation decisive storm in which fighter jets had been striking weapon stores and military brigades controlled by the militants and pro-Saleh forces since March 26th.
The second stage, known as the hope renewal operation, aims to protect civilians and secure aid delivery to the people affected by violence.
Airstrikes will continue during this stage.
