UN-backed talks between Yemeni factions are continuing in the capital city of Sanaa in an effort to put an end to the constitutional vacuum.
Sources said the talks are mulling over options including that transition president and government withdraw their resignations and then resume their duties.
The sources said the ten countries backing the transition process are exerting major efforts to convince president Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the cabinet to come back to the office amid fears the country could sink in violence and civil conflicts.
Hadi and the cabinet resigned last week in protest against the Houthi violations, seizures of the presidency compound and brigades of the presidency forces and raiding and besieging the residences of Hadi and prime minister Khalid Bahah.
Among the tabled options is that a presidential council be formed in order to take charge until a deal is reached over the shape of new president and government, the sources said. This option is almost agreed by all factions and the presidential council is likely soon. No details about the presidential council have been revealed.
Meanwhile, calls for mass anti-Houthi coup demonstrations are increasing in many cities. Houthi militants have deployed to streets of the capital in response to the calls.
Lately, Houthi militants have cracked down on peaceful protesters in the capital. They assaulted, wounded and arrested tens of protesters, activists and journalist.
