The Security Council will hold on Tuesday a meeting on the latest developments in Yemen amid reports president Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi has been flown by helicopter to an unknown place.
The presidency reached a ceasefire after the battles with Houthi militants near the presidency palace in the capital city of Sanaa yesterday and it is holding. However, members and leaders from the Houthi Group said today the future will be determined.
9 people were killed and more than 60 others injured in the battles.
The developments have accelerated into what appears to be a coup. In the past two days, the government announced that official TV and Saba agency had been seized by Houthis.
Also, Houthis abducted director of president Hadi's office triggering shutdown of all oil and gas projects in Shabwa and Hadramout governorates. The tribes called on oil firms to shut down production operations until bin Mubarak is released.
Reports said today, the Houthi Militant Group is still abducting him.
Meanwhile, the government is meeting over the situation in the capital city of Sanaa coinciding with reports have fled or taken by a helicopter to an unknown place.
