A video showing the abducted Dutch couple the was kidnapped in the capital Sanaa was released Monday night.
Tribal mediators told Yemen Post that the couple were treated well by the kidnappers but the couple was undergoing strong pressure.
The video shows the couple pleading for help and indicates they are still being held by tribesmen and not by suspected al-Qaeda militants.
Earlier in the day, Yemen Post received confirmation from a tribal mediator that negotiations between a pro government team and the kidnappers of the Dutch couple are not going well and that evidence of the European couple in custody will be released.The mediator told the Yemen Post that the health of the couple is well and that they are being treated well.
Last month, a Dutch journalist, Judith Spiegel, was abducted in Yemen with her husband, Boudewijn the Haddah area of the capital, Sana'a. The area is one of the most secured in Yemen and home to many diplomats and expatriates.
The Yemeni Journalist Syndicate (YJS) has condemned the kidnapping, saying that local groups are using the practice as a "bargaining chip with the state." It has called on Yemeni security forces to ensure the couple are released.
