Yemeni Political Parties and Organizations Affairs Committee (PAC) endorsed and officially registered on Wednesday two new parties to join the existing political parties in the country, namely the popular Justice and Building (JB) party.
In its meeting chaired by the committee Secretary General and Minister of State for Parliament and Shura Council Affairs, Dr. Rashad Ahmed al-Rasas, officially accepted both the Justice and Building, and Freedom and Development Parties.
Mohammed Abulahoum, president of JB welcomed the approval and promised that the new party will focus on being the voice of the people.
The committee also discussed a report pertaining new requests submitted by organizations planning to establish new political parties.
It has promised to further study the new requests, saying it would decide upon them in its next session.
Justice and Building Party was part of the former ruling General People Congress party, founded by Saleh, but its members decided to establish a new party after they resigned from their original party in the wake of killing dozens of peaceful protesters by forces loyal to ex-President.
