Yemeni oil export revenues register record low in 1st quarter 2009
According to a report issued by the Central Bank of Yemen, Yemen’s oil export revenues declined in the first quarter of 2009 about 74.5 percent, to $ 254.8 million compared from $ 998.8 million during the same period last year. The report pointed out that the decline in oil revenues joined with a decline in the government’s share of the overall oil exports from 10.4 million barrels to 5.9 million barrels during the first quarter of 2009.
Prosecution damages 6.3 mln pills
Earlier this week, the Public Prosecution damaged 6.3 million pills and four tons of Hashish. According to the prosecution, the pills were seized in Sana’a capital, Hadramout, Hodeidah, Hajjah, Saada and Al-Maharah governorates last year and first quarter of 2009.
Eight dead in 77 traffic accidents in Aden last April
According to the Deputy Director of Aden Traffic, about 77 traffic accidents claimed lives of eight people while ninety one others were injured during the last month. Traffic officials said that the reasons behinds these accidents are over speeding and breaching traffic rules.
