The Yemeni government could ask the Syrian Ambassador to leave Yemen, a diplomat of the Foreign Affairs Ministry said.
Akhbar Alyawm newspaper said consultations are still ongoing to ask the Syrian Ambassador to leave Yemen in protest at excessive force sued against civilians.
The source said Yemen's Foreign Minister Abu Bakr Al-Qirbi is currently carrying out consultations with Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Mohammad Salem Basindiwa on the crimes committed against the Syrian people.
It said these developments came following consultations in which a third of the Yemeni cabinet's ministers agreed to take the decision asking the Syrian ambassador to immediately leave Yemen.
"A number of ministers warned of any procrastination in taking a decision to support the Syrian people, and the Arab and International consensus," said the source.
Yemeni protesters have been taking to streets, condemning what they dubbed as massacres committed by the Syrian regime against the Syrian people, demanding the Yemeni government to immediately expel the Syrian Ambassador.
Some countries consider the recalling the ambassador is a way of putting pressure on president Bashar al-Assad to stop the violence against opposition forces.
Gulf Arab states expelled Syrian ambassadors in their countries and recalled their envoys from Syria in protest at the violent government crackdown on opponents.
The US closed its embassy in Syria on Monday, and several European countries have recalled their ambassadors.
The moves came as Syrian government forces continued their fierce assault on the restive city of Homs, and Russian China vote against a UN Security Council resolution would have demanded al-Assad stop the violence against the opposition in his country.
