Saudi Arabia plans to grant Yemen half a million tons of petroleum products, which facing difficult situations in fuel due to several attacks on the pipeline that provide the largest refinery with crude oil.
According to Reuters source, the Saudi oil company Aramco will buy petroleum products from the market and ask suppliers to send shipments to Yemen instead of Saudi ports.
"There is an agreement between the government of Yemen and Saudi Arabia in accordance Aramco buys gasoline, oil, gas and pay for it". The source said.
The Yemeni Prime Minster Mohammed Salem Ba Sondowah said Saudi and UAE officials promised him to assist the Yemeni Reconciliation Government, which seeks to restore security in the troubled country.
This amount of oil is the second grant provided by Saudi Arabia during this year, 3 million barrels of Saudi crude oil sent to Yemen to run Aden refinery last June when it was closed.
Yemen is suffering from the protests for 11 months demanding an end to the rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who lasted 33 years. This culminated in the uprising in favor of the signing of an agreement to hand over power to his deputy Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi.
