Clashes in Sa’ada Between Houthis and Salafis

*
 Yemen Post Staff

One Salafi student was killed in clashes between the Shia Houthi Movement and the extreme Sunni Salafi movement in the northern Yemen Sa’ada province.

The escalations between both groups started when Houthis claimed that Salafis are entering weapons inside their educational institutions in the town of Dammaj, and demanded that all military posts are emptied.

As Salafis refused, a tightened siege against their religious school complex took place early this week resulting in no food or medicine entering the facility.

Fares Manna, the governor of Sa’ada, did not succeed in having a ceasefire continue for more than four hours.

Salafis are calling on the Yemeni government to help in ending the siege of their educational institution before a war outbreak takes place.

All of the praises are for the Lord of existence and may the prayer and peace be upon the most noble of the Prophets and Messengers to proceed: We are Muslims from the lands of America, Great Britain, Canada and other English speaking countries. We all came from our faraway homelands to this abode (Darul Hadeeth Dammaaj) for the purpose of studying the affairs of the religion of Al-Islaam. We are free from the ways of oppression, offensive aggression, and wrong doing that which is found in the ways of the many sects (e.g. Al-Qaeda, Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen, etc.). This is the path we steadfast upon (seeking beneficial knowledge and doing righteous actions). The Raafidhah (the Howthis) have attacked us and have sieged (surrounded) Darul Hadeeth Dammaaj. They have also prevented the entering of food and medicine for us, our women and our children. With this we have confronted their actions with patience and in return they have carried out attacks upon us (machine gun fire and tactical sniping night and day), treacherously and oppressively killing some of the students (from them a pregnant young woman). This is the situation that remains until this day- the 28 day of Dhul Hijrah 1432/ November 24, 2011. We are upon a significant faith, reliance, and certainty that verily Allah the Mighty the Majestic will make a way out for us and relieve us of this hardship. This letter is for the purpose of clarity and information. All of the praises are for the Lord of existence Comment:

Clearing the people of Sunnah from extremenism Comment Title:

Clearing The People Of Sunnah And Discharging Them From The Pollution Of al-Qaa'adah: The Group of Corruption By His Eminence Abu Abdur-Rahman bin Ali Yahya al-Hajooree (May Allah Preserve Him Dar al-Hadith Salafiyah in Dammaj (May Allah Protect It From All Evil) بسم الله الرَّحمن الرَّحيم ِAll praises are due to Allah and peace and blessings on His messenger, his family, his companions and those that follow his guidance. After that َQuestion ٍSome questions came up about what was published in newspapers and on the website called: Marib. The articles said that some Jihadist kidnapped some officials and when they were asked why they did it they said: because they bother the students of knowledge in Dammaj, this was among there reasons ِAnswer Surely they know and everyone else knows that they are not with us and we are not with them! The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a hadith from the books of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim related by Aaisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) said Who brings something new to this matter of ours it is rejected And this means that this act is not accepted and is not pleasing to Allah or his messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) So it is our duty to accept what Allah approves of and to hate what Allah hates and rejects And in the two books from Amar bin al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said This tribe is not my ally. My allies are Allah and the righteous believers This is our way, it was the way of the righteous slaves of Allah and the believers to be far away from shirk, innovation, trivia, revolt, coups, and strife and the Sunnis are on the way of the pious predecessors. This is us and we are them. Whether we are in the east or the west, if we are dead or alive, if we are Arabs or foreigners And in the two books from Abi Moosa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said The believer to another believer is like a structure each part strengthening one another So it our duty to advise Muslims and call them to the truth and to look out for offenses that they do and stop them from doing offenses. And it is mandatory that we tell the truth and what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong. Leaving the truth is not allowed, against your enemy, or for your friend O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both. So follow not the lust, lest you avoid justice; and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquanted with what you do. An-Nisa'a 135 Jama'ah al-Jihad was condemned by our Shaykh(Sh. Muqbil Allah mercy be upon him) and by us in the book called: I'alaan an-Nakeer alaa Ashaab al-Anqalaab wa at-Tafkheer(Declaration of the Open Condemning of the Followers of Uprisings and Attacks) And if someone with their ideas came up amongst the students of Dammaj, Shaykh Muqbil (may Allahs mercy be upon him) would not let them stay at the institute and they would be kicked out. After Shaykh Muqbil died we saw some that I sensed raising the ideologies of Takfir or fitnah or what is called now al-Qaa'idah from Jama'ah al-Jihad or other then them. We did not leave them with us and all praises are due to Allah the names of those expelled are known We do not let Jama'ah al-Jihad(may Allah rectify their situation) or anyone else from the Muslims tarnish us with their infamy, claiming that the government of Yemen harmed Dammaj and the students. All praises due to Allah, Dammaj has not suffered at the hand of the Yemeni government(may Allah give it success) Honestly, If some problems came up with some students in Sa'dah or Sana'a like what happen with three Somalis a little while ago or during the time of the war with the Rawafidhs then by Allah I called the government myself and said that so and so is one of my students! And I was told by the government we are releasing them now! This happened right away I truly appreciate the government's respect! I thank them also for their appreciation and of the efforts made by the people of Sunnah from knowledge, good behavior and following the way of Islam in the way of the pious predecessors(Salafiyah). Far away far Fitnah there is no animosity between us and the government thankfully. Criticism of the errors they fall into and the errors others fall into comes under the hadith of the prophet(peace and blessings be upon him The Religion is advice. We asked: to who? He said: To Allah, His Messenger, to the leaders of the Muslims and the common people. Narrated by Muslim We believe they commit certain error, just like we commit some mistakes, and these errors vary, the are big and small with out leaving Islam. And the best among those that commit sins are those that repent ِAdvice is mandatory according to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger(peace and blessings be upon him), and it is mandatory that we stay away from and prevent what is in opposition to the Shariah large and small We are indeed servants of Allah(subhanaahu wa ta ala) and he says in his Noble Book I did not create Jinn and Man but to worship me. Ad-Dhariyat 56 ِAllah honored us with Islam, Faith, the Quran and the Sunnah. And we must give all of them the importance that is due to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger(peace and blessings be upon him) and hold tight to it. This is indeed the right path that has no crookedness. Allah(subhanhu wa ta 'ala) said So hold you fast to that which is reavealed to you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. And verily, this is indeed a reminder for you and your people and you will be questioned. az-Zukhruf 43-44 And Allah (azza wa jal) said And verily, this is My Straight Path, so follow not other paths, for they will separate you away from his path. This he has ordained for you that you may become al-Muttaqun. Al-Anaam 153 And this benefit must be preserved. Allah (azza wa jal) said This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your Religion. Al-Ma idah 3 Do not deviate from this benefit either by imitating the disbelievers, or approving sins, or committing any offense against the Law, large or small, as per the religion of Allah! And we were ordered to follow righteously. Allah (azza wa jal) said So stand firm and straight as you are commanded and those who turn in repentance with you, and transgress not. Verily, He is All-Seer of what you do. And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the fire should touch you, and you have no protectors other than Allah, nor you would then be helped. Hud 112-113 ِAnd Allah (azza wa jal) said Seek the right path to Him and ask His forgiveness. Fussilat 6 ِAnd with righteousness, the person may still fall into errors and mistakes that are not committed intentionally. Others may be committed deliberately if Allah does not preserve a person and protect them. We must then repent to Allah and ask Him for forgiveness as in this verse Seek the right path to Him and ask forgiveness. And woe to the polytheists. Fussilat 6 ِAnd Allah (azza wa jal) said Those who say: Our Lord is Allah That is to say they make one His sovereignty, His worship and His names and attributes And Who stand in the right way That is to say they follow his laws and religion On them the angels will descend(saying) Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised! We have been your friends in the life of this world and are in the Hereafter. Therein you shall have that your inner-selves desire, and therein you shall have for which you ask. In entertainment from Allah, the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Fussilat 30-32 I seek refuge from Allah that I should accept wrong doing. It is our responsibility to advise these people(May Allah improve their situation) And by Allah! I advise them in private and in public. Indeed the believers are counselors while the wicked are deceitful We therefore advise those who cause these disorders and fitnah in the country to fear Allah, learn their religion properly and move away from these false ideologies. Those among them who care about the religion of Allah and whose concern is not the greed of the goods of this world, if they see an error or a reprehensible act and want advice come to the door of the house. And be advised. We are in a Muslim country, both the governors and the governed, that is the origin of it the country is well and there is a lot of good in it. And the Messenger of Allah(peace be upon him) said Faith is Yemeni, wisdom is Yemeni and understanding is Yemeni So come and advise those that have responsibilities lighten their mistakes and ask them to depart As for the kidnappings and other detestable acts, it makes thing worse, causes fitnah, disturbs the peace and emboldens the enemies outside the country against us. Claiming that the country is in chaos ًWe want to live in peace, in obedience to Allah (azza wa jal) The Masaajid are full and hold good. We must improve the good with obedience to Allah (azza wa jal) moving away from the disobedience of fitnah. We ask Allah to make us reject fitnah that is hidden and apparent ِAnd we say to Jama'ah Jihad that cry for Dammaj (or so they say) where were you awhile back when the Rawafidh were unjustly attacking Dammaj? None of you lit a single firecracker that a children play with against the Rawafidh! Quite the opposite, when the people of Sunnah clashed with the Rawafidh down a few mountains, some of you who were in the east ran away quietly with your faces covered with headscarves so you would not have to fight the Rawafidh! As some brothers have informed the students in this area ِAnd even if they had come to us, we would not have accepted them because I wanted our ranks unified. I did not want hizb! Nor Jihadis And Jihadis are formed by the Muslim Brotherhood, that hizb that will betray you at the most difficult time if you do not belong to their party. They consist of various groups, some commit deliberate act of disobedience and this causes discord But, Allah(azza wa jal) said And do not dispute, lest you will lose courage and your strength al-Anfal 46 However, because our brethren students were united in a single row, we experienced no weakness or collapse, by the grace of Allah (azza wa jal). There was that mutual brotherhood and joint effort, each spending in what brings him closer to Allah to repel the evil that touched him or his brothers. And grace comes down from Allah Alone Our Da wah is pure! By Allah! The faces of our brothers are white! Where ever they go whether in Yemen or elsewhere, the are told: Are you from Ahl us-Sunnah, those of Dammaj? They say: "Yes" They say to them: Hayyakallah! Welcome We are not satisfied that they try to relate to us! These anarchists! These bloodthirsty ones! Them nor any other people of desires None of those that Shaykh Muqbil called al-Jama'ah Fasad(the corrupt group) is trying to join us! And what better description of them he made in a short speech that includes what they do Our Dawah is Salafiyyah based on science, pure and clear! No one with any insight and knowledge can criticize it. It is not permissible to pollute it Say: Each one does according to his way and your lord knows best of him whose path is right. Al-Isra 84 We ask Allah to guide us and all Mislims, and grant us success 9-30-2010 Comment:

This statement "extreme Sunni Salafi movement" is misleading and may lead the reader to believe this is a deviant sect from the Muslims with the use of the terms extreme and movement. They are students who teach, write books and give talks for benefit of the Muslim Umma not just Yemen. As far as the Houthis, then the article "Sa'ada: A Cry for Help" is just a glimpse of their atrocious way. The student that was killed by them was an innocent young boy. They have also shot others including women. They were even sniping at the Muslims on this Eid Al- Adhaa. The Prophet Muhammad - may the peace and blessings be upon him- said whoever amongst you sees an evil he should change it with his hand ... to the end of the narration. Sniping at innocent Muslims, theft, attempting to starve a village from food and supplies, forcing people from there homes. What is the limit to there evils? But some of us just remain silent. May Allah forgive us and help the oppressed Muslims wherever they may be Comment:
