The national council of the Yemeni revolution forces condemned on Sunday the carnage of peaceful protesters in the capital Sana’a as it urged in a statement the UN, the international community and all world free people to end their silence toward what is happening in Yemen.
The international community should help and protect the Yemeni people from the Saleh regime and thugs who are committing heinous crimes against the people, the statement said.
It added that Sunday’s carnage of peaceful demonstrators in Sana’a will not pass without punishment and it will be added to the crimes of the Saleh regime to bring those responsible to justice.
The council also urged human rights agencies to document all crimes and killings in Yemen as it said the remains of the regime are seeking to drag the country into violence and chaos.
The government continued to blame the opposition and the deserted forces for what is happening in the country including today’s incidents in Sana’a.
Abdul Janadi, Deputy Information Minister, said Al Al-Ahmer and Ali Muhsen are escalating and inflaming the situation to avoid the consequences of the attack on the presidential compound and thwart the authorization of Hadi over the GCC deal.
The police did not kill the protesters, he said, adding that those who burned the public offices shot the demonstrators from behind.
“How could the police reach the demonstrators who are guarded by well-equipped forces,” he wondered.
“The opposition and defectors want to invoke the international community and stand as a roadblock to implementing the GCC deal”. Yemen is experiencing a political crisis and all events are within this framework, he continued. There are many soldiers dead and those who failed to achieve any gains over eight months of protests are behind escalation that resulted in bloodshed.
We demand an investigation committee on the shootings and bloodshed, he told Aljazeera, as he continued to wonder who pushed the demonstrators and who killed them while they are being guarded by the first armored division.
