The Joint Meeting Parties, the main opposition coalition Yemen, met on Saturday in the capital Sana'a and discussed the ways to form a transitional council amid continuous antigovernment protests.
The meeting discussed an initial project to form the council amid the current political and security vacuum and discussions on its details will continue to make this project a success, said Muhammad Al-Mutawakil, a leader in the coalition.
"The follow-up committee wrote down necessary notes, and tomorrow we will continue the discussion. When we finalize this project, we will distribute copies to and discuss that with the parties and then take versions to the squares of the youth-led protesters in Yemen cities to come out with a united project," he said.
There is not a specific timeframe to do this but it will be finalized as soon as possible, he added.
On Friday, Hassan Zaid, secretary general of Al-Haq Party, said the council will include all political forces including the Houthi Group, the Southern Movement and the opposition abroad.
