A Saudi medical team arrived on Saturday to treat President Saleh in Sana'a, as reports said that Saleh could be taken to the Saudi kingdom where five senior officials who were injured in Friday's attack on the presidential palace arrived earlier today.
" President Saleh is in good condition and he will not go to any country for treatment. But if his condition requires taking him abroad that will be announced and there is no problem with that," said Abdul Janadi, deputy information minister.
President Saleh and several senior officials including Prime Minister and Parliament Speaker were injured when a rocket targeted the mosque inside the presidential palace on Friday.
Seven guards of Saleh were killed and the senior officials were flown to Saudi Arabia because of their serious injuries.
Meantime, government officials said today that Saudi Arabia had announced an initiative to end the sporadic battles in the capital between the army and the Hashid tribesmen.
