The head of the supreme council of the opposition, the Joint Meeting Parties (JMPs), Abdul Malik Al-Mutawakil said that JMP leaders received on Saturday President Saleh's initiative officially through Abdul Karim Al-Ariani.
Al-Mutawakil added the committee will probably prepare to a meeting between the JMP leaders and the ruling party leaders or with President Saleh.
Yesterday, the Yemeni opposition, JMP, held a meeting with the U.S. ambassador, in which they discussed different issues.
A statement issued by the U.S. embassy in Yemen called on the Yemeni opposition, Joint Meeting Parties, JMP, to avoid provocation actions and respond to President Saleh's initiative to resolve differences through dialogue and negotiation.
Last week, president Saleh made concessions at the emergency meeting of the House of Representatives and the Shura, saying he will not run for president and will not bring his son, Ahmed Saleh, to power when his term expires in 2013.
The announcement comes in parliament in which opposition members boycotted to protest against the governing strategies of Saleh’s ruling party.
