Tens of protestors gathered on a rally in Hadramawt and Aden provinces condemning the death of a woman hit by a police vehicle in Mukallah district, Hadramawt.
The woman was killed and two others wounded in south Yemen, during a protest demanding the release of activists in the Southern Movement from Yemeni Jails.
She was seriously injured when she was hit by a police vehicle in Mukallah, and died minutes later, sources said.
On the other hand, Yemeni authorities arrested at least 13 Southern Movement activists during a demonstration in the city of Mukallah on Friday. Among the detainees was Abdul Mageed Wahdeen, the chief of Southern Movement in Hadramawt province.
Witnesses said the arrests were carried out as police dispersed a demonstration which followed the Friday prayers in the centre of Mukallah district, Hadramawt and Aden provinces.
