Earlier this week, two men died of the swine flu infection in Ibb province, medical sources told the Yemen Post.
The source said that Nabeel Dammaj, 40, and Mukhtar Al-Shaibi,30, both from Jebla district died of the virus, which is commonly referred to as swine flu.
There was no reason to panic according to the Ministry of Health as fatalities were possible during any flu season, urging all citizens in Jebla district to take precautions. “Influenza is not a harmless illness, but it can have fatal consequences,” the source said.
Since the fall of 2009 - when the spread of the H1N1 virus led to the swine flu pandemic, many people have reportedly died of the swine flu infection in Yemen.
