Two demonstrators died and four others were injured when police broke up a protest in Aden Province on Wednesday called by the secessionist movement on the 16th anniversary of the 1994 summer civil war's end.
One of the killed, Al-Kazemi, died from his injuries in hospital and the second, Abdul Latif Al-Subaihi, died during the demonstration when police fired bullets and tear gas to disperse the rally.
The hurt are being hospitalized.
The demonstration started in the Hai Al-Saadah quarter in Aden passing in Khowr Maksar towards the republican hospital for the funeral of Darwish who was arrested and died in prison last month following the deadly attack on the Aden political security building.
The demonstrators carried the flag of the former democratic people's republic of the south and the photos of Darwish and Ali Salim Al-Beidh.
Anti-riot police fired bullets and tear gas on the people who insisted on attending the funeral of Darwish who was detained in the mass arrests that took place in connection with the building attack claimed by Al-Qaeda and which killed seven security, three women and a child.
