Saudi Authorities Take 13 Yemeni Fishing Boats

Saudi authorities have intercepted 13 Yemeni boats and taken them with their crews to the Forsan island in the kingdom, the Interior Ministry has reported.

They confiscated the boats and properties onboard them and deported the crews through land border areas, it said.

The crews have arrived in the country safely and told national authorities about their story.

A recent official report noted that Eritrean authorities seized sine 2006 until the first quarter of this year more than 380 boats with their crews.

In each time, seized boats were confiscated and crews harassed. Until this moment, attacks against Yemeni fishing boats in international waters continue by many foreign authorities.

Action is urged because boat owners rely 100 per cent on their boats to support their families amid bad individual living conditions and national economic deterioration.
