11th Al-Jazeera Exhibition Opens in Sana’a
Al-Jazeera Exhibition for Information Technology and Telecommunication opened in Sana’a for the period from 6th to 12th July. The exhibition is under the supervision of ministry of telecommunication and information technology and organized by Apollo Company. About 35 companies representing governmental and private sectors participated in the exhibition in order to show the latest developments in the field of telecommunication and information technology such as computers, laptops, cell phones and other products.
Yamama Cement Acquires 20 % in Yemeni Saudi Cement Co.
Yamama Cement signed a memorandum of understanding to buy 20 percent stake in the Yemeni Saudi Cement Co., whose capital stands at $75 million. Yemen Saudi Cement is expected to start trial operation next year. The plant is located in Batis area near Aden and has an annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons of cement. According to Yamama Cement, the final agreement will be signed after the general assembly of Yemeni Saudi Cement’s shareholders approves the stake sale.
67 People Killed in Traffic Accidents Last Week
According to a report issued by the traffic department, a total of 67 people died in 281 traffic accidents around the nation last week. The report added that 255 people were seriously injured and accidents caused material losses at YR 50.1 million. The report also mentioned that the main causes of the accidents were over speed, ignorance and the technical defects.
