The official spokesman of the Yemeni government, Minister of Information Hassan Ahmed Al-Lozi stated in a press release that the reported cases of Swine Flu A(H1N1) have reached 1618 cases, including 1102 cases of contact with symptoms of the disease and 516 confirmed cases, as well as recording 16 deaths from the disease.
Al-Lozi said that 24 cases of Swine Flu A(H1N1) had been discovered in schools nationwide in the governorates of Aden, Hajjah, Amran, Ibb, Dhamar and Sana'a as well as four cases at Sana'a University.
He conformed that three schools and four classes were closed due to the spread of swine flu. He explained that the closure of the schools due to specific benchmarks and indicators of numbers, which are subjected to the work of the concerned ministries.
He added that the Ministers Council ordered ministers of health, population and education to take more precautionary and preventive measures in cooperation with local authorities
