The Yemeni authorities have started repairs to the Marib oil pipeline which stopped pumping crude almost seven months ago, the Interior Ministry reported.
President Abdrabu Mansour Hadi ordered the Yemen Petroleum Company to repair the pipeline in four days and the technical teams have already repaired damages in some areas where it was attacked last year and this year, the ministry said.
"So far, the technical teams completed the repairs in Kilo 19 in the Al Oshan district and other teams are continuing their job in other areas," it made it clear.
The Marib pipeline was attacked many times last year and as a result the Aden refinery was shut down.
Also, Yemen has been experiencing fuel shortages since this pipeline carries about 110.000 barrels of crude a day which are consumed by the local market.
Saudi Arabia has pledged to meet the oil product needs of Yemen through January-May and recent reports said the kingdom extended its support to June.
Apart from this topic, the Marib gas-fired power station was sent out of commission on Wednesday, shortly after the authorities repaired damages to power-lines caused by an attack on Tuesday.
Many Yemeni cities have been plunged into darkness due to persistent attacks on power lines which supply electricity from the Marib station.
The Interior Ministry blacklisted the tribesman who attacked power lines and sent the station out of commission on Tuesday.
