Amidst news that the UNSC is postponing its meeting on Yemen to next week, President Saleh is now announcing that if he was to consider handing out power he would do so in favor of the military not the political class.
In another defiant tirade, the ailing autocrat told his troops: "We... are ready to make sacrifices for the country. But you will always be there, even if we step down."
Saleh and his son Ahmed were visiting one of the Republican Guards bases in Sana'a, the capital, wanting to prove amid rumors of yet more defections to the revolution that they were still very much in charge.

Over the past week alone, Saleh has paid much attention to the army, appointing new officers to key positions within the country provinces and replacing sympathizers to the youth movement with his own loyalists. Furthermore, sources within the armed forces continue to claim that Saleh is acquiring more weapons and military equipment, ferrying convoys from the seaport of Hodeidah back to the capital.

The remark which was firstly reported by state-run news agency Saba created an outcry of anger in "change Square" as protesters are growing tired of the president games, saying one thing doing another, always stalling.
"This is ridiculous, Saleh is making a mockery of the international institutions, and everybody, including the Opposition is letting him. It is time to say NO!" said Ahmed Ali al-Baydah.
