At least 6 fishermen were killed and 5 others injured in missiles fired by warships of the Saudi-led coalition in western Yemen on Tuesday.
The casualties occurred in the town of Khokha, the province of Hodeida, the Saba news agency reported.
"The coalition targeted the boat of the fishermen committing a new massacre in the Red Sea in weeks. Three of the injured fishermen were rushed to hospital in critical condition," Saba quoted head of the Red Sea Fishing Authority Khalid Al-Shamsi as saying.
Weeks ago, the coalition attacked boats killing around 100 fishermen and injuring many others as international organizations were calling for investigations into war crimes in Yemen.
The coalition launched a bombing campaign against the Houthi militants in late March.
On Monday, the Yemeni forces launched a massive operation to drive the Houthi militants out of Taiz province which is adjacent to Hodeida.
The coalition is providing direct support to the Yemeni forces including airstrikes and missile attacks from its warships stationed in the Red Sea.
Local sources in Taiz said jet fighters and warships carried dozens of strikes against the militants in Taiz today.
The strikes coincided with escalating battles between the government forces backed by the popular resistance and the militants in key areas.
The sources said the forces retook key positions from the militants in the Waziyah district and in downtown Taiz during the second day of the offensive.
There were no reports of casualties among fighters from both sides today.
