At least 124 civilians including children and women have been killed and tens of others injured from Arab airstrikes in several Yemeni cities in the past 24 hours, the Saba news agency reported.
Some 63 out of the victims were killed mostly from airstrikes against popular markets in the districts of Joub Al-Sofla, Al-Salatah and Ghoulat Ajeeb in Amran governorate, it quoted a security source as saying.
The Saudi-led aggression committed another massacre in Lahj governorate when it attacked a popular market in the Fayoush district killing around 50 civilians, the source was quoted as adding.
The others were killed in airstrikes in the cities of Aden, Hodeida and Saada, Saba reported.
Other reports said tens of Houthis were killed in the fresh airstrikes including more than a dozen in Amran.
In recent days, the Saudi-led Arab coalition intensified airstrikes against military brigades and weapon depots controlled by the Houthi militants coinciding with a visit by the UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh.
The capital city of Sanaa has been rocked by huge raids which continued to target the Aldailamy air base and weapon depots on the mountains of Noqom and Aiban.
Many civilians have been killed and injured including hundreds of children in the Arab military operation which was launched against the Houthi militants in late March. International organizations have also documented violations of war laws during the operation including use of banned weapons such as cluster bombs.
