ix civilians were killed and tens of others including children have been injured in Houthi shelling on populated areas in Yemen's southern port city of Aden, locals said on Sunday.
The Houthi militants have been pounding residences in the districts of Almansourah and Dar Saad since last night, they said.
The shelling coincided with persistent confrontations between the pro-government forces and the Houthi militants in other cities including Taiz, Marib and Dhali.
In Taiz, fierce battles broke out early today after the popular resistance attacked a Houthi checkpoint in the Albarh district killing six militants, well-informed sources said.
Moreover, physicians has appealed for action in order to stop Houthi rocket attack on the Al-Thawra Hospital in Taiz.
Separately, agencies quoted Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir as saying the Saudi-led airstrikes against the Houthi militants will continue in case peaceful options failed to end the conflict in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab bombing campaign in Yemen since March.
