A ship carrying humanitarian and medical aid is on its way to Yemen's port city of Aden where the situation has fast deteriorated due to conflict in recent weeks.
There are medics from the International Committee of Red Cross Committee onboard the ship as well, spokesperson for the Arab coalition which launched a military operation in Yemen around two weeks ago, Ahmed Al-Asiri, told media on Tuesday.
The coalition has already given a license to the ship to seal for Yemen, he said, while pointing out that tight measures imposed on Yemeni sea and air ports aim to keep relief staffs from dangers and ensure no support and arms arrive for Houthis.
The Committee lately condemned the killing of members of its staff in Yemen while expressing deep concerns over the humanitarian situation in the country especially in Aden.
Two of its staff were killed as Houthi militants targeted ambulances and relief workers in Aden.
Houthi militants have been fighting popular resistance committees and besieging Aden for weeks.
They are seeking to seize the south after they tightened grip on power in the capital Sanaa and seized all northern cities.
With support from dissident forces loyal to ex-president, the militants have been shelling populated areas and houses with mortars forcing people to stay suffering indoors.
One of their tactics was that they struck water and power stations deepening the suffering of families in this coastal city.
