In a message uploaded to militant websites, Nasser al-Wahishi, Yemen's al-Qaeda top commander and former aide to infamous Ossama bin Laden said he would try to free his brothers in arms , a threat the United States of America and Yemen are taking very seriously indeed.
"Your brothers are pounding the walls of injustice and the thrones of oppression. These walls and thrones are coming down every day and victory is but one step. Victory is one hour of perseverance," declared Wahishi.
He went on saying , "We ask God to make us a cause for unlocking your incarceration and relieving your agony," something officials have understood as a clear declaration of intent.
Praising al-Qaeda militants for their bravery, selfless sacrifice to the cause of God and endurance before oppression al-Wahishi urged all to standfast before the enemy as victory is at hand.
This new statement which comes amid an unprecedented terror alert in Yemen and led to the closure of all western embassies in Sana'a as well as the evacuation of foreign workers has rattled the public as it bears the threats of more violence to come.
Security experts have warned that AQAP could now attempt to replicate Iraq Abu Ghraib's jail break. Back in July al-Qaeda militants successfully managed to break out of jail a reported 500 alleged terror operatives by blasting its way through security.
Gunmen attacked guards with mortar fire as well as rocket propelled grenades while terrorists drove cars packed with explosives at the fortified gates during an attack which left ten policemen dead.
In Libya an estimated 1000 terror inmates were also broke out of prison by al-Qaeda militants on the outskirt of Benghazi last July.
While the government of Yemen is looking to identify the authenticity of the statement, its security and intelligence services are already working to assess the situation and block the advances of the terror group on its territories.
