Saba, Yemen state news agency denied this Monday recent reports published in the press that Prime Minister Mohammed Basendwa had decided to abandon his position at the head of the coalition government to seek political asylum abroad.
Rumors relative to the Premiere' s alleged political confessions as to the realities behind Yemen transition government, conspiracy theories, President Abo Rabbo Mansour Hadi's inaptitude to take meaningful political decisions and the foretold return to power of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh's family in 2014 have circulated in Yemen's press over the past 24 hours, feeding some media frenzy over PM Basendwa's anticipated resignation.
Government officials have denied all allegations, strongly deploring local journalists' lack of work ethic and tendency to falsify news reports as to increase their readership.
Prime Minister Mohammed Basendwa who is currently undergoing medical treatment in Jordan is scheduled to return to Yemen in the next coming days, when he will resume his functions as the head of Yemen transition government.
Yemen prime minister has often been the victim of harsh and at times vicious media campaigns over the past year, having been accused alternatively of betraying the revolution and working as Sheikh Hameed al-Ahmar political proxy.
