Prime Minster Mohammad Salem Basindwa and Commander of the First Armored Division Ali Mohsin arrived in Doha on Wednesday and met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
According to the Qatari state news agency, Basindwa handed over a letter from President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi to his Qatari counterpart.
The agency affirmed that Basindwa accompanied Mohsin who is also the commander of the North-west Military Region, pointing out that the letter included discussion of mutual relations and cooperation.
Mohsin who is among the most fatal foes of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh had accompanied Hadi to Qatar in a visit that annoyed officials of the General People Congress led by Saleh.
Mohsin who supported Yemen's uprising defected from Saleh's regime on March 2011 two days after forces and supporters of Saleh killed and wounded dozens of Yemeni protesters on March 18.
While some relatives of Saleh refused decrees of firing officials issued by Hadi, Mohsin praised all decrees even those which transferred brigades of the First Armored Division to other army units.
Mohsin frequently expressed readiness to accept any decisions that are issued by Hadi.
Hadi's decrees were refused by relatives of Saleh, and they later accepted them after the coming of the UN envoy to Yemen Jamal Binomar who threatened them with UN sanctions.
The former commander of the Air Forces Gen Mohammed Saleh al-Ahmar and the former commander of the 3rd Brigade Tariq Mohammad Abdullah Saleh refused for several weeks to accept their dismissal.
