Security forces thwarted Tuesday a terrorist bombing in the port city of Aden, the military-run 26 September quoted security sources.
The sources affirmed that security forces raided the Rimi Neighborhood in al-Mansoura of Aden where al-Qaeda militants existed and managed to escape.
Military sources said that a bomb car were found inside a house, affirming that it was prepared to be exploded.
Eyewitnesses pointed out that forces were largely deployed around the city and government offices, reiterating that a number of checkpoints were installed.
Insecurity and chaos acts have increased in Aden, the city which is considered among the most strategic Yemeni areas, after the widespread of armed groups supported by the Southern Movement and the Houthi group, media sources say.
Ansar al-Shariah, an al-Qaeda-linked group, targeted a number of Yemeni military commanders and intelligence officers, and kidnapped foreigners including a Saudi diplomat and Swiss teacher from Aden.
Last week, a Briton was killed inside his apartment in Aden days after an American couple from Yemeni origin were killed in the port city.
No findings were announced about the murders, but observers think that al-Qaeda were behind the killing of foreigners.
Security forces had stormed a house in Aden in early of October, killed four al-Qaeda suspects inside and confiscated weapons, shells, ammunitions, explosive belts and grenades.
Yemeni politicians have warned against plots to plunge the strategic city of Aden into violence with the aim of breaking down the political settlement, stressing that security situation are tense in these cities.
