The Gulf Cooperation Council States launched an office in Sana'a with the aim of enhancing cooperation with Yemen.
In a meeting held on Tuesday with the GCC representative in Yemen Saad al-Arifi, Yemen's Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-Saadi highly appreciated the inauguration of the office, praising efforts exerted by the GCC to the success of the political settlement and assistance given to Yemen.
Arifi said that the inauguration of the office in Sana'a confirmed that the GCC is keen to beef up political and economic support to Yemen and assisting the interim government to meet the requirements of the transitional stage.
He said the office would enhance communication between Yemen and the GCC and contribute in increasing coordination and facilities.
GCC States helped Yemeni political sides to reach an agreement last year after months of demonstration demanding to oust of the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
