Yemeni Parliament speaker Yahia al-Rayie received on Saturday the U.N. envoy to the country Jamal Bin Omar in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a.
During the meeting, Al-Rayie has pointed out the Parliament is doing its best to make sure that the GCC drawn peace plan, ts mechanism and the U.N resolution no.(2004) are implemented .
"The brave is he who offers concessions for the nation's sake especially in such dangerous and delicate period Yemen is going through presently, "Al-Rayie said.
He made reference to the parliament's efforts to make the GCC peace plan work, including its approval of the government of nation conciliation program, which was put forward by Prime Minister Mohammed Basindoh.
He also said the Parliament is monitoring closely the everyday updates of the military committee tasked with removing the armed manifestations of the central Yemeni cities including the capital Sana'a.
For his part, Bin Omar expressed his happiness of the steps taken as part of implementing the peace proposal, which was signed late in November by the President Ali Abdullah Saleh and the traditional opposition in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
Banki Moon's envoy to Yemen, stressed the importance of implementing the peace plan as it's the only and best way of steering clear of a potential civil war in the poverty-stricken state.
The meeting was attended by some Parliament members and members of the U.N envoy.
Al-Rayie was among the high-profile government figures who sustained injuries in the assassination attempt of the President early in June 2011.
He received medical treatment in the oil-rich neighbor Saudi Arabia and came back in September along with the Saleh and other top government official.
