The second phase of power transfer took place on Saturday when the new government was sworn in.
Last month, opposition parties insisted that the swear in happens in the presence of Vice President Abdu Rabu Hadi and not President Saleh.
They got what they wanted and proved that President Saleh is only an honorary president and has no authorities.
Hadi told the sworn in ministers that they now represent millions of Yemenis and not certain factions or parties.
“This was important for them to know and they have a huge responsibility ahead of them,” said Yahya Arasi, media officer for Vice President Hadi.
The first phase of power transfer took place on November 23 when presidential authorites were stripped away from President Saleh and handed over to Hadi.
Saleh will remain honorary president until February 21.
The new government, which consists of 34 ministries, was distributed evenly between the ruling party and Yemen’s opposition.
This has not stopped millions of youth from marching on a daily basis demanding that Saleh is tried and saying that their revolution is no where close to over.
