As hundreds of thousands protested the Taiz violence in 12 Yemeni provinces, clashes resumed in the city leaving three civilians killed and six others injured, medics said.
Medics in freedom square Taiz told Yemen Post that the injury toll will increase as ambulances in the city are working non-stop.
Fighting, which resumed Friday morning, only got worse during the day, and youth protesters continued to gather in larger number.
More than 300,000 ant Saleh youths gathered for the weekly Friday prayer demanding a fall of President Saleh's regime.
"We are not afraid of your weapons," youth chanted in Taiz.
Al-Hasb district of Taiz saw heavy bombardment from government troops forcing hundreds of families to evacuate the area.
Eyewitnesses said that heavy artillery is being used within residential areas causing damages to property and injuring many.
At least 12 civilians were killed in yesterday's attacks against civilians by government forces.
Opposition fighters were involved in clashes that lasted six hours yesterday.
