The Usbek doctor who was abducted last Tuesday by some tribes in Marib, as he was traveling back to the capital, Sana'a was freed in the early hours of this morning.
According to government sources at the time, the tribe was trying to use the doctor as a bargain chip to have some of their men freed from jail.
The details of the release are still unclear at this point.
In recent months a surge in kidnapping has taken place in Yemen as the tribes and other political groups are using foreigners to exert pressure on Saleh's regime.
