For a second consecutive day, the southern city of Aden, was victim of a terrorist attack when a bomb exploded outside the town's general security headquarters.
"A bomb exploded at the main gate of the building, leaving four soldiers wounded, two of them seriously," revealed a source close to the matter.
On the wake of the explosion severe gun fighting ensued between the government forces and unknown armed militants. Although the battle was fierce according to resident and onlookers, no casualty was reported.
Government officials are said to be concerned over the latest security developments in the Sea-Port city of Aden as they fear that al-Qaeda militants are trying to take control over the town by destabilizing its infrastructures and security networks.
For several months already, "Ansar al Sharia" an offshoot of al-Qaeda in Yemen has been expanding its controlled territories in the southern provinces of Yemen not too far from Aden. Furthermore, security analysts have warned that Aden could very well be the ultimate coveted prize for the Islamist group as it sits directly on the Oil shipping route. One could easily imagine that al Qaeda would use the threat of yet another Oil crisis to blackmail the World's giants into complying with their demands.
