In his latest address to the press, Mohamed Qahtan, the main spokesman for the Opposition, said he was confident the UN Security Council would pass a resolution on Yemen, putting an end to Saleh 33 year rule over Yemen.
Since president Saleh's announcement that he "would leave power within a few days", the opposition has been spitting its venom, accusing the autocrat of stalling the power transfer process by trying to rally some last minute support to his cause.
Qahtan several times branded Saleh a liar, stressing that since he wanted to sign the GCC proposal so badly, he should go about and do it without wasting any more time.
Diplomats in the UN have recently claimed that a consensus had been reached in regards to Yemen, leading to believe that even China and Russia had finally agree to not veto the resolution. They added that the Council final decision could be made public as early as next week.
Qahtan also stressed the fact that he believed neighboring countries had reached a brick wall in trying to reason with president Saleh and that it was time for the international community to step in and act for Yemen.
He closed his statement by saying that unless real pressure was to be exerted against the Yemeni dictator; he would continue to cling on no matter the suffering and chaos it entailed.
