Government forces attacked youth protesters and civilians in freedom square Taiz Wednesday morning killing at least eight and injuring dozens.
Fire was everywhere near the square and clashes continued in six different fronts in the city.
According to Yasser al-Nusari, a medic in freedom square Taiz, at least 30 civilians were injured in the random attacks of the government.
“The death toll is now at eight, and six of those injured are in very critical condition.
The death toll is expected to rise as attacks intensified throughout the morning.
Government attacks were fiercest at the districts of Masbah, Tahrir, al-Tharbah, and Jamal St.
Among the killed were two children. Six other children were injured, medics in the square confirmed.
Tens of tanks were seen stationed in all the main roads of the city.
Taiz has seen some of the bloodiest days in the Yemen revolution which started on January 16.
