Emir of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula AQAP attacked on Tuesday the political parties in Yemen, saying both the ruling and opposition parties are useless and represent the minority in Yemen.
In an audio message posted on some Jihadist websites, Nasser Al-Wuhaishi said his loyalists are present inside the squares of change beside the youth-led protesters demanding the ouster of the regime. "The participation of Al-Qaeda in the antigovernment protests comes for the rule of Sharia to prevail at the end," Al-Wuhaishi said.
In his message after Al-Qaeda published the names of its leaders who have been killed in the battles with the army in Yemen's southern province of Abyan, he announced allegiance to the successor of Osama bin Laden, the new leader of the global Al-Qaeda organization, Ayman Al-Zawahiri.
"To my beloved emir and my best master, Ayman Al-Zawahiri: I and all your loyal soldiers with me announce our support and allegiance to you," he said.
"We inform you that our people in Yemen have transcended the political parties which represent the minority of the people in Yemen and are following the crusaders," the message said.
"We, the Mujahideen, are the sons of the nation and we are from it and to it. We share the people their ups and downs. We exist inside the squares of freedom and change to impose the rule of Sharia and justice and return security," he said.
The U.S. enemy is incapable of doing something amid the developments in Yemen, but through intelligence work and air strikes under the collusion of the government, he said, warning that they will not stay idly, but we will continue our war and campaign against the crusaders.
