The Yemeni authorities identified the bomber who rammed an explosive-laden car into a military convoy on Monday in Aden as Turki Saad Muhammad Qulais Al-Shahrani.
A source at the Interior Ministry was quoted by Saba as saying that the Saudi bomber was known as the Saudi sword and was an explosive expert for Al-Qaeda.
Five soldiers and the attacker were killed and twenty five others injured in the attack near an air force base in Al-Mansoura district while the convoy was on its way to Abyan province where the army has been fighting Islamists or suspected Al-Qaeda militants for months.
About 90000 families have fled Abyan amid fierce clashes that have killed and injured hundreds of soldiers, militants and civilians.
Lately, the army with support from tribes regained several cities that had been taken over by the Islamists who declared the southern Abyan province of Abyan as an Islamic emirate.
