A security official in Abyan said that US drone attacks took place against Islamic militant targets in Abyan killing three civilians.
No al-Qaeda suspects were killed in the attack, the source said. The residence of al-Qaeda fighter Nader Shadadi was also attacked. Shadadi was not home during the attack. His father, mother, and sister were killed in the raid, the official said.

The target of the attack was the October7 ammunition storage warehouse, in the suburbs of Jaar, Abyan. Raia area of Abyan was a target by the drone the security official said.

Eyewitnesses said that three drone attacks took place. "The three attacks took place in different parts of Abyan. We have been seeing the drones in the skies of Abyan for days now, said an eyewitness in Zinjibar.
