A number of military camps in Yemen’s Marib Province surrendered to the protesters demanding the ouster of the regime on Tuesday as the uprising gains further momentum across the republic.
Informed sources were cited by the Alsahwa website as saying that the commanders and officers of the camps gave weapons to the anti-government protesters and joined them, a day after Marib Governor was stabbed after firing live bullets and teargas against protesters.
In Sana’a, there were also confirmed reports hundreds of soldiers joined the hundreds of thousands of the sit-inners at the square of change outside Sana’a University.
In the last weeks, tens of thousands of tribesmen and soldiers joined the young sit-inners outside the university who are determined not to leave their place until the government was ousted.
And as the protests continue to escalate the government has recently started to lose mind intensifying the crackdown on the protesters across Yemen leaving many killed and thousands of injuries.
The security forces have fired live ammunition and nerve gas at the protesters and informed sources said the forces had plans to conduct more attacks against the protesters.
