Faud Dhaba, a Yemeni parliament member announced on Wednesday his resignation from the Yemeni parliament and joined the protesters in Sana'a University campus against President Ali Abdullah Saleh's regime.
Dhaba attributed his resignation to the failure of the Yemeni Parliament in offering positive chances for Yemeni people.
He added that the current parliament contributed badly to aggravating the recent crisis in which Yemen nowadays faces.
The MP is a member of the Islamic party, Islah, and is considered the first Yemeni parliament member to resign from the House of Representatives.
Dhaba's move targeted to pressure on the opposition coalition, the Joint Meeting Parties, JMP, to participate in the protests against Saleh's regime.
