A Yemeni court specialized in cases of terrorism in Sana'a started on Sunday a trail of ten suspected Al-Qaeda militants, including a Syrian suspect, on charges of blowing up the local office of Canada’s Nexen Inc. in Hadda district, Sana'a in 2008.
They were also accused of being connected with attacks on domestic military, security forces, foreign interests and diplomats, a currency exchange bureau in Hodeida province in which they stole YR 650,000, and the 21-day kidnapping of the son of a Yemeni tribal leader.
The suspects, aged between 25 and 40 years of age, refused to answer questions from Judge Mohsen Alwan, who adjourned the hearing until Monday in order to interrogate them in pairs.
