Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) said on its website that they executed the Deputy Director of the Yemeni Political Security Service in Sada'a province, Colonel Ali Mohammed Al-Husam, after he admitted to spying on Mujahedeen in the previous years and arresting suspected Al-Qaeda members.
Al-Husam who was kidnapped on August 28, was accused by Al-Qaeda of running a network of espionage in Sa'ada province for 20 years and had imprisoned many of Al-Qaida students.
Last September, (AQAP) gave 48 hours for Sana'a government to swap two Al-Qaida detainees for Al-Husam. The two detainees Hussain Al-Tais and Mashhour Al-Ahdal, were arrested in a checkpoint in Jawf province by Houthi group, and were then handed over to the intelligence director of Sa'ada.
