The General Prosecution ordered the release of activist Tawakul Karman after more than 30 hours in jail. Her arrest received international media attention and protests throughout the country.

More than five thousand protesters gathered in her support, therefore, forcing the government to release her.
Karman led over seven rallies in the capital Sana’a demanding that president Saleh step down from office. Her comments caused chaos in the government, as analysts feared that it could lead to another fall of an Arab leader.
Twenty one activists and protesters are still being held by the government, and Yemen Post sources said that most of them will be released in the next four hours.
